Round of applause to Awoken

Awoken, (one of the bands who attend our Teenage club night), performed a fantastic set at The Duchess on Wednesday 18th March. Consisting of Steve Gillies (vocals), Thomas Chalk (lead guitar), Josh Chambers (bass guitar), Dan Mitchell (rhythm guitar) and Solomon Jackson (drums) - the lads went down a storm with their blend of tuneful, high-energy power-rock. As well as their perfected covers of Pompeii and Mr Brightside, the band belted out their two original numbers – with my favourite being “Call my Name” as it is just that bit edgier, funkier, and tighter with some impressive interplay between guitar and drums and a great crescendo of sound at the end.

A mention also for Minster Conspiracy who are so impressive – particularly given their young age, and then there was a brilliant act at the end of the night, Possum, who truly deserve a much better following.
