Special event - hosted on Facebook featuring Jonny Mottram to promote our Aviva entry!!!

6.30pm on Monday 14th, Tang Hall SMART CIC, are hosting a very special event …… available online only, using live feed, Jonny Mottram, a young man who has down's syndrome, will be presenting his rapathon, together with Gareth Wilcox, Tang Hall SMART’s rap coach. Jonny is one of the Hip Hop Shake Up rappers, a group of young men who all have learning disabilities, affiliated to Tang Hall SMART.

Jonny is one of the stars of the Hip Hop Shake Up Rappers, a group of 14 people who love hip-hop, and who have learning disabilities. This group already have two music videos and several performances to their name.

Monday’s event is to promote the Hip Hop Shaker’s entry in the Aviva Community fund national competition. This has attracted over 4000+ projects this year, who compete to gain the most public votes before going before a panel of judges; the decision is then made regarding which good causes out of the 4 projects (in our category) with the highest votes, they will fund! There are nearly 50 projects representing the York area, but a quick perusal of the projects and their votes would show that the rappers are easily York's best chance for success.
