Hello everyone! This blog is packed full of important news and information, so that you will have the facts at your fingertips, and will know everything there is to know concerning Tang Hall SMART over the next few weeks!
Monday 18th June - a usual day, with SoundSMART and after that, Inclusive Rock School - but then, Monday evening, we are on the move, with HUGE thanks to GoodGymYork who are going to kick-start our move into the fabulous new centre at the front of the site, by shifting all our bulky furniture!
All our usual classes and clubs are cancelled from Tuesday 19th -Friday 22nd. There is one exception: the Wednesday evening choir will meet at 6pm for a rehearsal, but in the new building, so we can put the finishing touches to our performance for Saturday.
Friday 22nd @ 2pm - 4.30pm - IN OUR OLD ROOMS - We are having a bargain-basement sale. There will be plenty of items we have not got room for, at very cheap prices (no sensible offer refused) such as furniture and instruments, plus there will even some bits and pieces free to a good home! More information about what is there will be posted on our facebook page on Wednesday/Thursday. (Please do not contact us for details of what is for sale because we will not know until then!)
Saturday 23rd - York Explore are having their launch day at The Centre, and our wonderful choir are attending from 10.30am , and will perform two short sets to help the event go off with a musical flourish!
Monday 25th - Tang Hall SMART CIC will open up for our SoundSMART class and Inclusive Rock School club, in our lovely new rooms! Staff will be there at the front to welcome you and point you in the right direction. We think you are going to LOVE IT!
Tuesday 26th - The Tuesday morning community band, SAFE BASE and the Teen Club are on as usual.
Wednesday and Thursday ... our usual timetable
Friday 29th - Danesgate as usual - and Musication rehearsals
Then - the next week is a usual delivery week
Thursday 5th July - Inclusive gig - showcasing the rapping and rocking of our Satellite pupils in the assembly hall. This is a FREE gig, open to the public. 10.00-11.30am
Saturday 7th July - the WONDERFUL SMART SUMMER CONCERT - in two sections ... 3.00pm-5.00pm showcasing our community music .... followed by a free tea ... followed by 6.00pm-8.00pm showcasing our record label acts including the rap/alt.rock act D.Ni.L. - Wasabi Fire Alarm, and acts from our teen and adult provisions. This is a free event, and is actually the first large concert we have held since our York Barbican gig last November, so do come and catch up with us if you can!
We are open the week after the gig ... then we will have a much needed few days off from 16th-20th July, then its back to work for business as usual the following Monday.
Coming up over the summer ....our fabulous summer rock schools for people who have learning disabilities .... a pilot of our new drama course ... Teen-Club relaunch event ... and more! Watch this space!
